We are fortunate enough to have 15 Rotary Scholars in our district for this academic year.

Thirteen of the fifteen are studying at the University of Oxford, one is at the University of Reading and one is at the London School of Economics. Three are studying for a PhD, two are on a 2-year course: one in the first year and one in the second year. One of the PhD students was also a Rotary Scholar in 2005/6 and is now in the third year of her PhD.

Our scholars come from the USA, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India and Japan. They are all studying subjects that fit with Rotary Foundation's Six Areas of Focus: International Development, Agriculture, Social Policy, Economic Development, Public Policy, Clinical Embryology, Education, Migration Studies and Water Management.

District 1090 is also funding one Rotary Scholar to study International Education Policy at Harvard University this year.
