Off to the Races!

Off to the races! The Rotary Scholars had a fantastic day attending the Royal Ascot Trials Day on Wednesday, May 1st. Donning their finest “race day” ensembles and hats, the scholars were warmly welcomed by the members of the Rotary Club of Ascot to the first event of the racing season. Founded in 1711 by Queen Anne, the Ascot racecourse allows loyal fans and newcomers alike to experience the historic races from the vantage point of a modern viewing standard. Following an afternoon of bets, wins, and losses, scholars and Rotarians alike were treated to tea and cakes at the home of David & Eileen Marshall. The fantastic day concluded with an evening at the Ascot Club’s weekly meeting and three presentations by the scholars.

All bets are off, the scholars’ first experience of The Ascot Races was truly a win!
